PDW-06 [SWG-12]: Understanding Organization as Process
Call for Applications
Purpose
The "Process Organization Studies" Paper Development Workshop (PDW) is a pre-Colloquium activity
that aims to help early-career academics develop their research ideas and papers towards publishable articles in close interaction
with experienced scholars in the field. The workshop will be most beneficial for students and early-career scholars with fairly
developed papers with the specific aim of developing these towards journal submission. We particularly invite papers connected
to the Process Organization Studies field (= SWG 12).
This PDW will start with a brief introduction on topics
of interest to Process Organization Studies. Accepted papers will then be briefly presented by the authors and discussed in
round-table sessions. All participants will be expected to have read the papers of their fellow session presenters and be
ready to contribute to these discussions. Participants will also be expected to attend all sessions of the workshop.
The workshop will take place on Wednesday, July 2, 2014, 9:00am–12:00pm.
Application
All scholars interested in developing their papers towards publishable articles are invited to apply to this PDW. However, preference will be given to PhD students/early career scholars. To be considered as an early career scholar, the applicant needs to have completed his/her doctoral/PhD thesis within the last three years.
Please submit – via the EGOS website! – a single document of application (.doc, .docx or .pdf file) that includes:
- On the first page: a short letter of application containing full details of name, address (postal address, phone and email), affiliation (date of PhD completion for early career scholars), a statement of why the applicant considers it valuable to attend this PDW as well as an indication of what journal(s) the paper is likely to be submitted to.
- A full draft paper that is to be developed to a publishable stage.
