44th EGOS Colloquium 2028

About the ZHAW School of Management and Law

The ZHAW School of Management and Law (SML) looks forward to welcoming the EGOS community to Winterthur-Zurich, for the 44th EGOS Colloquium 2028. With its vibrant academic environment and strong connections between research, practice, and society, the SML offers an inspiring setting for exchange, new perspectives, and meaningful conversations about organizations and organizing.

A practice-oriented business school with global reach
The SML is one of Switzerland’s leading and largest business schools, with around 5,000 students enrolled in degree programs. As part of ZHAW Zurich University of Applied Sciences, it combines academic excellence with a strong commitment to practical relevance and societal impact.

The School holds the Triple Crown of international accreditations from AACSB, EQUIS, and AMBA. Its Bachelor’s, Master’s, cooperative PhD, and continuing education programs are interdisciplinary, academically grounded, and practice-oriented. Through partnerships with more than 190 universities worldwide, the SML is firmly rooted in Switzerland while maintaining a strong international outlook.

Research with relevance for organizations and society
Research at the SML addresses economic and societal challenges through applied and internationally connected scholarship. Its researchers collaborate across disciplines and with partners from academia, business, government, and civil society. Key areas include general management, international business, banking and finance, public sector management, and business law.
This combination of academic rigor, practical relevance, and engagement with societal transformation resonates strongly with the EGOS community and its commitment to advancing organization studies through critical, diverse, and collaborative inquiry.

A connected campus in a vibrant city
The SML campus is located in the heart of Winterthur, only a short walk from the main railway station, the historic old town, hotels, restaurants, and cultural venues. Modern lecture halls, seminar rooms, and collaborative spaces offer an excellent environment for scholarly exchange and informal encounters. Winterthur combines the accessibility of a compact city with a rich industrial heritage, a lively cultural scene, and extensive green spaces. Thanks to its excellent rail connections, the city is easily accessible from across Switzerland and neighbouring countries. Zurich Airport is just 13 minutes away by direct train, while central Zurich is also within easy reach.

A sustainable and welcoming Colloquium
Sustainability and social responsibility are integral to the mission of both ZHAW and the SML. The central location of the campus, vegetarian catering featuring a wide range of locally sourced products, excellent rail connections, and short walking distances will support a resource-conscious event design.

We look forward to welcoming the EGOS community to Winterthur–Zurich in July 2028 for an engaging EGOS Colloquium shaped by stimulating scholarship, critical dialogue, and meaningful encounters.
