This special issue of the Journal of Arts Management, Law and Society (JAMLS) welcomes manuscripts that draw on the thinking of Boltanski and Thévenot, and that mobilize their concepts to study arts management, arts organizations, and cultural policy development. Theoretical work that offers critical reflection on the place of these ideas in our field are welcomed as well.

ARTS ORGANIZATIONS AND STREET-LEVEL BUREAUCRACY

This special issue of the Journal of Arts Management, Law and Society (JAMLS), is looking for contributions that engage with the concept of street-level bureaucracy in arts and heritage organizations. 

Full papers (5000 to 7000 words), commentaries, and research notes (not exceeding 5000 words) that offer analysis and critical reflection on this topic. In particular, submissins that engage with the following sub-themes are encouraged: Street-level bureaucracy and care work in arts and heritage organizations; Work, routines and coping mechanisms; Conceptual analysis.
